Sharing Compliantly

Become confident in sharing

We want you to be confident in sharing Young Living; that is what this post is all about.

Essential oils are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Therefore, we cannot talk about essential oils as cures for disease, even if it may be true.  This is for our protection. We (most of us) are not medical professionals and, therefore, we cannot diagnose or claim to treat disease (like cancer). There are plenty of things we CAN say that will help people understand what these oils can do.  We do not need to make outrageous claims, pretend that we are doctors, diagnose people, claim we can "heal" people. We just don't need to.

Changing the conversation actually gives us more power.  What do we want people to feel in regard to their health?  Do we want them to feel HOPELESS or do we want them to feel POWERFUL?  We're confident your answer is POWERFUL. You see, when we talk about ailments all the time - big, scary ailments, diseases, unwellness - it can make us feel hopeless and powerless.  However, when we talk about taking charge of our body's wellness before ailments even happen, keeping us ABOVE the wellness line rather than constantly struggling to get back up there, walking in positivity and power, we find strength, empowerment, and freedom.

Compliance also encourages us to know our stuff.   Let's say someone does have the C word. Instead of saying, "I have something that will fix that right up!" we are now implored to dig deeper, ask questions, seek answers, read, and truly help support the exact area. "It sounds like you need support for your thyroid. Let me tell you what vitamins/ minerals/ compounds have been proven to support healthy thyroid function. Oh, and guess what, <insert name of YL product> is filled with that." Do you see how easy it can be to educate someone on what their body needs and how they can get it, WITHOUT using buzz words that claim to diagnose, treat, or heal?   It can take some practice, but don't worry, it truly is so simple, and we are here to help you. Young Living also has a resource to help you. We will cover more on compliance soon.

Compliance also encourages us to empower people to gather their own resources, do their own research, and talk to others who are walking the same path.  One resource that every single YL oil user should own is the Essential Oils Pocket (or Desk) Reference by Life Science Publishing.

It's okay to tell your own personal story of oil successes.  It’s okay to tell others how you use oils and what they have done for you.  Just don’t diagnose or claim to heal others and you’ll be good.

Now, there's no need to panic!

***AIN'T NOBODY GOING TO JAIL FOR SAYING A WORD***

Hear us out. Breathe.  You're fine. Do you know what happens if you make a non-compliant mistake?  Young Living shoots an email or a phone call and educates you on how you can say it better and just tells you to change it.  They want us to succeed. And guess what? They want to bring essential oils into every home, too. They're here to work with us, every single time, no matter how long it takes for us to understand.   You will ONLY run into problems if you tell them you won't fix what they ask you to fix.

Compliance keeps us safe.  Compliance keeps Young Living safe.  Compliance keeps the people we're trying to help safe. And compliance is a good, empowering, thing.
